                                                                   TERM 3

This term has been so much fun! There’s been lots of changes in class. There’s been fun things happening and not so fun things happening. Today I’m going to tell you what I’ve liked this term and what I disliked this term. We’ve done speeches, read the book Holes. We even got to go on a Marae trip To Te Poho o Rawiri, that was loads of fun.
Changes
Some of the changes are priorities, our timetables and  games we play for fitness.
Priorities are a list of things that we are given to do during the week.  At the end of the week hopefully all of our priorities will be done. When we’re done the teacher will mark our work according to the effort that we put into those tasks. We will earn points on Class Dojo. If one of your tasks are marked as red you will earn 1 point, If it is orange you will earn 3 points. If it is green you will earn 5 points. Timetables are something that we plan at the in the morning so we know what we’re doing for the day.
Games
At the start of the term we learnt some new games. One of the games that we’ve learnt is called Medic, Medic is like a game of dodgeball but you and your team will have a quick meeting to agree on who your two medics will be. If you get hit by a ball your medics will tag you on the hand and that will allow you to get back up.

Another game that we’ve been playing is called Ultimate Rounders, it's kind of like baseball except there’s obstacle courses. You will need to teams. There will be one pitcher that yells STOP once they’re in the circle and they’re  holding the ball. The people on that pitchers team will be fielders they will throw the ball to the pitcher so they can yell STOP. Someone from the other team will be batting and once they’ve hit the ball they run super fast so they can get to the end of the first course and it goes on. In this game you will need to be very strategic. 
Highlights
My highlights for term three for me is going to Te Poho o Rawiri. I enjoyed playing games and going up Kaiti Hill. I’ve really enjoyed the games that we play although I’m not the best at all of the games. My favourite game that we play is called Medic it’s a really fun! I enjoy working on priorities it’s easier and you know what you have to do next.

I’ve enjoyed everything this term especially the changes and the new games!

Profile

Kia ora my name is Kayla. I come all the way from Cape Town, South Africa. My family and I moved to New Zealand a few months ago. I'm in year 5 at Wainui Beach School. I have one little brother and a mom and a dad. We live opposite Wainui Beach.

I like learning new things. I think I am very good at handwriting. I really love art. I am not so good at speaking in Māori. My goal for the year is to be even better at playing netball. My biggest dream is to climb up the Eiffel Tower. I really want to go to Paris and explore. I love exploring.

I would really like to start gymnastics. Gymnastics is lots of fun. I started gymnastics when I was 5 .years old.

Annihilation

Our Class Party

Our class Party was yesterday. It was very fun. Most of us came in our PJ's. I wore my PJ's. My PJ's were very fluffy

We had crafts there was lots of different types of crafts. I think that I was mostly by the hot glue gun and paint section. We had to be very careful with the hot glue guns.

We had waffles for morning tea. The waffles were so yummy. Almost all of us had whipped cream on our waffles. I had whipped cream and Nutella.

We watched Harry Potter. I had never watched Harry Potter before. Harry Potter is a very nice movie. There wasn't enough time to watch the full movie but we are going to finish the movie today.

We had a shared lunch there was lots of food. when the bell rang we all came to the classroom and gathered around the table. There was hot dogs on the table that looked very yummy. Everyone started to scream HOT DOGS! HOT DOGS! HOT DOGS! The hot dogs were  probably finished in about 10 minutes.

I had tons of fun  

Timber

Without trees as we know the world wouldn't exist.

One solution to this problem was to plant fast growing EXOTIC trees.

Kaingaroa State Forest was one of the largest plantation the world.

If there were no trees there would be no oxygen with no oxygen we wouldn't be able to breath.

This text is telling us to take good care of all trees and plants because we need oxygen from the trees.

Cenguin

Hello we are Cenguin. We are mixed with a Penguin and a Cat. We are a Carnivore.

We live in the USA. We live on a beach in the USA so we can eat bish. We live on land and swim in the sea.

We love eating bish, bish is fish and bird mixed.

We can make noises like...EOWW. We love playing around.

They love to have fun and eat lots of bish

Ice Skating

                                                      ICE SKATING
Ice Skating is fun. I love ice skating. Everytime I go ice skating I never know how to ice skate. But then I get the hang of it and have tons of fun. Its so funny when I fall on my butt.

My first time ice skating was very nerve racking. Then I got the hang of it and my mom said Kayla we have to go home now. I really didn't want to.

For my 10th birthday we are going ice skating. Cornelia, Millie,Charlotte and Jayden are coming.
I can't wait

Autumn

                                                                   AUTUMN SENSES 

The leaves start falling off the trees and change colour.

It sounds like a light breeze.

The plants and leaves start to die.

You start wearing warmer clothes.

The veggies that grow are leek ,karotts, broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce.

It smells like firewood burning from the chimneys.

The clouds are darker, there is more rain and puddles on the ground.

There is holes in the leaves and that means that they are going to die soon.

Autumn tastes like my mom's chicken soup and warm yummy food.

Its a freezing cold breeze in Autumn
